Praetorian Guard Army Showcase

The Praetorian Guard are one of my favourite Imperial Guard (Astra Militarum) regiments. Games Workshop only released a small number of metal miniatures for these way back in the 1990s and thanks to eBay I have managed to pick quite a few up over the years. I have also used current tanks from the Astra Militarum range alongside these miniatures to add some much needed fire power to the army. My favourite miniatures were some kitbashed Ogryns made mostly from Warhammer Ogres and Greenstuff.

Below are 3 infantry squads made up from a variety of the old metal miniatures by Games Workshop

Here we have a command squad and a commissar, again these are old metal miniatures by Games Workshop.

These Rough Riders were made using parts from a 3rd party supplier although it’s been so long since I painted them that I cannot remember where they are from. These horses are old Empire horses from Warhammer I believe

The field ordnance batteries are some of the newer miniatures in this army. I used some old metal miniatures from the heavy weapon teams for the crew. Speaking of which here’s a couple of missile launcher teams. I still have lots of heavy weapon teams yet to paint. Lastly I used one of the heavy weapon crewmen in an old Sentinel miniature too

My favourite miniatures have to be the Ogryns. They were made from old Warhammer Ogres, green stuff and some Ogryn parts, not by myself but the very talented eBay seller I bought them from.
